Great ink and was packaged super securely to prevent any accidents. It is a muted deeper blue and (of course) really shines on thicker paper where you get the gradation.

The swatch on the site is slightly lighter than what you'll see writing but it comes out to a beautiful matte color.

Bought 2 VIP tickets from Bertram's Inkwell and had a wonderful time at the show. It was my first pen convention and I must say I was impressed! The hues in the ink are the same as the original (thankgully). The main difference here is that the sheen is more visible now, specifically when you're looking at the ink straight-on.

Nitrogen is a love it or hate it ink, but for those who love it, this is a natural choice!

I am enjoying my Aurora 88, black satin fountain pen, with a fine nib. The satin finish looks classy and feels good in the hand. The rose gold nib, band and clip make it stand out. It is not a clone of the common black and gold pens. The fine nib is wider than many fines, and that suits me just fine. There is a touch of feedback to the nib — less than Sailor nibs, but more than many others. The piston works well. I’m happy with my purchase.

I purchased an Esterbrook Estie Avalanche edition pen from Bertram Inkwell online. The site is well laid out and easy to use, they shipped quickly, and upon arrival I found a special edition ink bottle tucked in my box for free. The pen works well and writes so smoothly. I watched the You Tube reviews but till you hold one it’s not the same. Love the click when closing the pen. It has a large number 6 nib and writing is an experience with this pen in a good way. Depending on your preference the ink is slightly broad with a medium nib. No scratchiness and the ink flow is consistent. Wish there was a click when posting but it’s good enough as is and remains posted . Girthy but no overly heavy as I bought the Factory model and no slippage when writing. Very cool well crafted pen. Bertram’s Inkwell delivered quickly with a nice handwritten thank you note so support small business if you can. Thanks Mark G

I ordered my first ever fountain pen from Bertram's Inkwell. The TWSBI Eco is a great beginner pen that's easy to use. It's an aesthetically pleasing and affordable option. The piston filling mechanism makes it really approachable once you get the hang of it.

My only 2 comments on it are the EF nib is still thicker than a 0.5 nib (e.g. on a Muji pen). I was aware of this when purchasing so it's not a shock to me but heads up for anyone else. I also have no issues writing with the pen on most surfaces but have had issues with a 120 g/m² creme paper. Even when holding the pen correctly it sometimes will not flow for every letter but this may be beginner user error.

Bert is super pleasant to communicate with and cares about his customers and products. Emailing may not always get a response but he is quick to pick up the phone!

My only piece of feedback for the user experience is that the website does not inform you of whether a pen is in stock, backordered, or out of stock. When I ordered the TWSBI it was backordered but was given no indication or communication about this. So I waited a while before having to call to ask about my order status. Transparency about these things would be appreciated in the future!

I got the fine point and I love it! It writes clearly and beautifully without smears or smudges. It’s easy to fill, and the barrel is substantial without being unwieldy for my small hands. The 14K nib is beautiful and I appreciate that the cap posts. I’ve had my eye on this one for some time, and Bertram’s had the best price. I will be buying from them again.
