Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and social activist. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.
Governor Larry Hogan has procalimed Septemer 1-30th to be Internationl Underground Railroard month. Ms. Tubman was born in 1822 in Maryland and there more stories of her helping enslaved pepole through Maryland than any other state. #tubman200
